June 2025 Letter From the Directors

As you know, one of our objectives is to see family preservation ministries be financially healthy. On our monthly connection call in May, Kevin Trotter from the Trellis Group facilitated a great conversation on the need of building a sustainable donor base in light of some cultural and governmental shifts. We would highly encourage you listen to it if you were not able to be there.

As part of a non-profit, we are sure you are very aware of the need to be on your game within the fundraising space. And if you are anything like us, there is an appropriate pressure to steward these kingdom finances with great wisdom and intentionality. We can tend to feel that the most when we think of individuals faithfully giving sacrificially over the years.

In light of that, we believe we can fall into the temptation to think of stewardship through the lens of frugality alone. Now, don’t get me wrong, there is a time and a place for that. However, when you look at scripture, especially Matthew 25, there is a clear expectation to be aggressive in our stewardship. We are possessors of nothing but stewards of everything and God longs to see how His gifts can be used to grow His kingdom here on earth. These gifts are not ours to own and hide away but instead to invest and grow what He has called us to.

So, allow us to challenge you to take some time this month, strategically thinking through how you can, with wisdom, be aggressive in all the gifts given to you - your talents, time and yes, your treasure as well. This may take some risks. But often times you spell faith, R-I-S-K.
